EDS file develooment

Hello,
Does anyone ever wrote an EDS file from scratch? I'm in need to write one in other to have a custom made device to talk to a Guardlogix.
Please let me know if is there any software required or guidelines.

Hi,
If that device is not custom made then it is, a lot, easier to ask manufacturer or download from their page EDS file.
Basically it is ordinary text file which can be modified, if you know what you want to achieve and how that device should/could communicate with logix controller.
There is tools from some manufacturer which can generate EDS file, like ABB Drive composer (https://library.abb.com/d/3AXD50000012770)
I tried it once and got EDS file which is not working as it should.
Probably I expected to much with not to much knowledge

Thank you very much, Its a custom made device, I know It's gonna be a challenge but there is not working around if I insist of my DYI solution, but maybe is a good opportunity to learn making mistakes.
