[?]: Getting started with the S7-300 CPU

Hi!

Im completely new to the whole PLC scene but ive read it as a course at university and now i have gotten myself an nice Example of a Siemens
S7-312 CPU with
1xDI16/DO16xDC24V (SM323)
2xDI16xDC24V and (SM321)
1xDO8xREL. AC230V. (SM322)

Question is now that ive gotten all hooked up and the cpu is running and im connected to it.
Problem is that when i try to modify for an example the value of I1.5 it wont modify to true and it stays false all the time, same thing is with the rest of the modules.
And the LED's wont lid up either.
I dont get any error codes or nothing.

I've done the hardwareconfiguration wich i think i have done right also it is downloaded to the PLC.
We never got to mount and install a Siemens in school so this was just by the small knowledge ive had from before.

What can i be doing wrong?

I tried using the search function but for some reason it dosnt seem to be working for me cant search anything, i have even sent a PM to the mod about this but still hasnt gotten any answer.

Today i tried activating an output with an memory and i succeeded but the LED on the module doesnt lid up and i couldnt get any volts from it either.

What is wrong?

Hi,

do you have the 24V connected to the I/O-modules?
It is not enough to connect the cpu only!

Ok now im having a new problem wich ive been figuring on for myself the past days but still it makes no sense.

On the DI/DO16 module the adresses for outputs are 0.0-0.7 and 1.0-1.7 correct? thats what it states in the hardware config.

But when i try to activate any of the 1.X numbers the LEDs on the range 0.0-0.7 activates instead ? and the 0.0-0.7 range works as it should be working..

Why is this happening?

I try making a program and it occurs there. Also i tried to Activate them trough monitor/modify in hardware config but i wasnt able to change the outputs on 1.0-1.7 to True but the rest was possible.
