now i use encoder omron(type: E6C2-CWZ6C) that is NPN type it have five lines so i use brown connect with 24Vdc,Blue 0 Vdc ,Black(Phase A) connect to Chanel A0 of FM350-2 and i test rotation shaft of encoder by hand and see counter value by load PIW272 it have data but not change.
so i think encoder type not match with PLC? may be PNP type?
if it can work anybody please explain about wiring connect FM350-2 and how to get counter data from encoder or recommend about encoder it work with this module
thank a lot.

i don't know the indicate encoder, but you need a positive pulse to send a FM card.
You need to configure the card ( download from siemens support the tool )
and then load the example.
use the FC into example to read the counter and appropriate job to read/write . not use the perifery to read
manual :

omron(type: E6C2-CWZ6C)

With this scheme presented here, works as a PNP and ready to work with FM350

Re: [?]: connect encoder omron to FM350-2
Hi
I have the same problem, could someone please re-post the image above explaining how this encoder should be wired.
I have couple of rotary encoders im not able to read any values from, type:
Im not able to get any count readings, using the commissioning tool in HW.
Encoder has A-B-Z and +- wires and i have connected A to A0 and B to B0 and 24v power.
FM350-2 has 24v on L+ and ground on M. There are no errors in the CPU or counter module.
I have a hunch that this encoder may not be supported by the FM350-2 module, as this one i NPN type.
Encoder datasheet.

Could anyone please let me know if i can use this encoder with FM350-2 counter card.?
Thanks in advance.
Adrian
