[?]: How to copy S7 v5.5 license

Post by tron » Wed Mar 16, 2011 1:23 pm

Hi Everbody,

its my first time on this board. Looks great.
So many helpful tools and tuts.
I tried to search for something but i dont know how i should discribe.
So i decided to start a new Topic, may ist faster if somebody knows the right link or answer.

I just bought SIMATIC S7 STEP7 PROFESSIONAL 2010 Floating License for my Company.
They take 2500 Euro. So here is my Problem.

I got a laptop for field programing an a PC in my office for programing and i can't afford me a second license.
And its very annoying to transfer the license from PC to laptop and back.
I got Step7 v5.5 and Automation License Manager v5.0 SP1.

I tried to copy the *.ekb files from AX NF ZZ directory.
But ALM dosen't accept the copy files, they are displayd as invalid.
So how can i copy my license to my laptop btw. to my pc? Is there a way to do that?
I dont want to use always those stupid transfer of ALM.

I hope anybody can help me.
THX in advance ...tRoN...

Hi,
Backup your licence on your USB stick.
Make a image of USB Stick (*.IMA), then rest image to a new USB Stick - any size and any vendor.
Use http://winimage.com/

take TrueCrypt,
make a crypt folder,
put in the S5 license an zip,
now you can make a copy of zip an then unzip
you have 2 licenses
