[?]: change a motor rotation two times per Second ?

Hi,
In my recent Project, I've to select a "module" to be enable to change a motor rotation two times per Second.

It's like this:
There is this injection head which should move between two limits in a linear path.
In fact we have a linear guide and this head is moving align to the guide, and attached to a timing belt that should be rotated via a ?-HP motor. so this motor should change rotation direction to change heads movement to right or left?!?!?!
Question is here:
is an AC Drice fine for changing the rotation of a motor 2times in a sec?
how big this inverter should be comparing to this ?-HP motor??
three times bigger?

Anycomments or idea would be highly appreciated.

use a servo motor ! :)

Positioning is not very important for me to use a servo. The same thing happens inside the servo. just servo soes ahave an internal position feedback.
what advantages does a servo have over an Inverter else positioning capability??

You may use the motor with brake.

It wount work. :!:
I have to go fwd AND come back a 1.5miter path in just one sec, I.E. I have to travel 1.5m in 0.5 second (Including all start, ramp-up,ramp-down and stop)

I think this servo is a better IDea! but how big it should be??

You may use the step motor.

What about Motor with a CAM and Spring Loaded Return in Other End.

Hi
To finish the case i came here to say:
we have used a Servo motor for this project. working very fine.
