[?]: Step 7 V13 and V5.5 compatibility

Post by miham » Fri Feb 13, 2015 7:32 am

Hi, I am confused with Step 7 versions and their compatibility.
We have a 300 series controller that was configured and programmed with V5.5.
Will I be able to upload and modify the program using V13?
Will any migration be required?
After modifying and downloading the software back to the controller will a person with V5.5 be able to work with it?

Thanks for your support

What are the requirements for migrating a STEP 7 V5.x project to STEP 7 Professional (TIA Portal)?
https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs ... 0731?dl=en
you can't open TIA Portal projects in Step7 5.5 online/offline (h)

Thanks for the Info! I just found a document online that states that ''If you buy STEP 7 Professional 2010 (around £1000 more than the Standard STEP 7 version 5.5), the package includes STEP 7 version 5.5 as well as TIA-Portal STEP 7 version 13.''

As I understand this product SIMATIC S7 STEP7 PROF 2010 SR4/V13 COMBO INCL. TIA PORTAL, FLOATING LICENSE FOR 1 USER (6ES7810-5CC11-0YA5) will include the V5.5 version as well so actually I will still be able to edit V5.5 programs without converting them to TIA. Is that correct?

Thanks
