emm.. the file have no any extension name. Just edit it with any text editor then put it to the original folder.

SIEMENS PLC can only open one DB and one DI in the same time.

If this is updated by some instructions such as indirectly addressing, nothing can do but read related FC & FBs.

Would you like to use internal tags in you wincc flexiable project? you can write some scripts to control the interanl tags.
If not, I suppose you creat a necessary plc project and simulate it in plcsim. After that you can connect your wincc flexiable project to plcsim.

It is not necessary to obain a licence for Siwarex U tool. Just install it and select "intergrated in STEP 7" then you can config your module in hardware configration windows.
