Re: request: Is it possible to data-logging in excel time-st

Hi, yes it is possible. You have to create a Dint tag (example My_Time_Stamp[7]) that is minimum 7 words long, and then use the GSV (Get System Value) function to 'COPY' the WallClock DateTime value to the tag you created. Check the instruction help section for specifics - I don't have RsLogix at ho...

Re: [Request] RSlogic for Window7

RsLogix family of programs was just this year made to work on Vista x86 (32 Bit) it will be a while before it is made to work on Win7 (officially). Best bet is to use XP mode in Win 7 to run it or use Virtual PC or Vmware.

We use something like this.
We send data over Ethernet, convert it to serial and send this to a printer for printing labels.
The idea seems to be the same. We use an Ethernet to Serial converter.
See the link below.

I'm sorry the 'pass-through' communications is not working for you. It would appear that you are stuck with option #1. Like I said I've only used this with controlligix PLCs. It appears that PLC5s are maybe too old to support 'pass-through' communications. Maybe some one else can shed some more ligh...

Thank You for the file and taking the time to respond. I will test it out in the future, because I don't need it any more. RE: how to see ladder diagram through ethernet

OK, magid1010 you have 2 options, to go online with your PLCs. 1) You must buy a DH+ card for your PC and then hook it up to your network and set that card as an additional node on the DH+ network. Once this is done you can then use the DH+ driver in RsLinx to 'browse' the DH+ network and see your P...

If I'm understanding what you want to do (connect an MMI (SCADA) running RsView to a ControlLogix PLC) then you need RsLinx OEM or greater running on the MMI to act as an I/O or OPC server. RsLinx will get the data from the PLC and 'pass' it along to RsView and vice versa. You have to setup the prop...

We`ve run across this with an AB PLC and the only way we could recover the program was by getting AB involved. They were not wiling to show anyone how to decript the data. The mini-DIN connector is the comm port and it is RS-232 DF1 protocol, full duplex. The AB cable part is 1761-CBL-PMO2. Yes, you can make your own cable for a lot less $$$ than purchasing one from AB, BUT.... Note that the 8-pin mini-DIN that's on the AB cable fits a LOT better than a standard one, ...
